Joan Cusack Was a Bauce in Grosse Pointe Blank

Grosse Pointe Blank is a great movie. There’s witty repartee and angst and action and redemption. There’s love and loss and things we just can’t seem to get over no matter how dumb they are and how mature we should be by now.

And there’s Joan Cusack.

Do you remember her in Grosse Pointe Blank? Because there was a lot going on and she just sort of inhabited the role of Marcella, Martin Blank’s executive secretary/project manager.

But she killed it. I mean killed it.

When’s the last time you watched her scenes in GPB? They’re amazing.

First of all, you do not try to shortchange Marcella when she requisitions subsonic rounds. It’s just not done.

What a pivot. I love it.

Here, Marcella blasts out an epic breakdown of all the key players in the Grosse Pointe hit. My sister and I still enunciate Felix La-pou-belle the way Joan Cusack does. She’s amazing.

Also: Grosse Pointe Blank is 23 years old. Elle Fanning, Amanda Gorman and Lil Nas X weren’t even born when it came out in theaters.

(Sorry!)

Have a great day!

Texas born and raised but Miami is my current home. I like sharp edges, especially when they're on people. Eternally searching for the best omelette, the best roller coaster and the best adult animation.
